This is Me leading a pitch in Patagonia. Things are crazier when you are that far from home. I was way more scared climbing here cuz all I could think about was the stakes involved. Not only was I 9,000 miles from home, but I was a brutal, all day long hike from a road. I had no idea how I would get rescued if I fell. Did they do helicopter evacs in Argentina? And how would my parents find out? Nobody even knew what town I was in cuz I was always on the move. So I climbed pretty cautiously that week. But within reason. Taking risks and overcoming your fears are the whole point of climbing.
