Two storytelling shows I’m terrified of b/c I’m telling my best (but most shameful) story at

I’m TERRIFIED of this one:

The Moth invites you to

The GrandSLAM Championship:
Feast or Famine
The Moth presents the GrandSLAM, a battle of wits and words – fierce, hilarious, heartbreaking and all points between.

Listen as ten StorySLAM champs tell stories from the land of plenty or the world of not-so-much. Abundance or scarcity, high on the hog or eye level with the curb, hear tales of the human condition in times of prosperity or drought.

The Moth is dedicated to finding intriguing people to tell inspired stories. At The Moth StorySLAM, those people find us. On this night, using words as weapons, they battle it out to determine The Moth’s GrandSLAM Story Champion.

Weird Crap In The Window

After a long day of work, I saw this sign. I deserved a massage, didn’t I? It’s Queens. I’m sure it can’t be too expensive.

This looks a little sketch, but probably cheap and good enough.

Hmmm. Their window display made me think they don’t get too many clients. The massage table is literally being used as a table

purse

Are they a tiny purse store that happens to do massage, or the other way aruond?

Then I came across this safety supply store.

safety

There was this creepy lady in the window

safeety3

and then there was this guy
safety2

It looks frighteningly similar to a porn shop window in NYC

safety4

they have a weird idea of safety. All that gear, yet construction man is barefoot.

Then I came across this cute store just a few blocks from where I live

but something seems not quite right about this scene..

img_3579

oh, that’s what it is. Did the employees not notice or not care to fix it?

boy

and I could be wrong,l but I think this is a boy dressed up in little girl clothes. I wonder how he feels about that.

dummy

This poor guy’s got it worse than the boy/girl
